Shahjahanpur: A new case has been registered against Farman Raza Khan, son of Ittehad-e-Millat Council chief Maulana Tauqeer Raza, in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. This time, Shivendra Pandey, a Roadways bus driver from Sitapur depot, filed a complaint at Tilhar police station against Farman.
Shivendra Pandey alleged that Farman, driving a car at high speed and with negligence, collided with the rear of his bus, causing damage to the vehicle.
The incident took place near Kachiyani Kheda Hanuman temple under Tilhar police station jurisdiction on the Lucknow-Delhi National Highway. The bus, heading to Haridwar, was parked by the driver on the roadside to offer prayers at the temple when Farman’s car, coming from Bareilly side, hit the bus from behind. The front part of Farman’s car suffered severe damage, but no passengers were injured. Farman himself sustained minor injuries.
On Wednesday, Shivendra Pandey submitted a written complaint at the police station. Based on his statement, the police registered a case against Farman under Section 281 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code along with other relevant sections. Police officials confirmed that this is the second FIR against Farman within 12 hours. The investigation is ongoing, with all aspects being examined.
Following the accident, police took Farman into custody and searched his car. Reports indicate that suspected crystal drugs and syringes were recovered from his bag, leading to a separate case under the NDPS Act. Farman’s father, Maulana Tauqeer Raza, is currently in jail in connection with last year’s Bareilly violence case.
The police are continuing their inquiry into the matter.
