New Delhi, January 23. The Delhi Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) on Friday against Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the leader of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), for allegedly threatening to incite unrest in the national capital ahead of the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
According to officials, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police filed the FIR under Sections 196, 197, 152, and 61 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These provisions pertain to criminal conspiracy, acts that threaten the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India, and other crimes that pose a threat to national security.

Police sources indicated that this action followed a video that circulated on social media, in which Pannu purportedly issued threats targeting Delhi around the time of Republic Day. In the video, he claimed that pro-Khalistan posters had been put up in areas such as Rohini and Dabri through alleged sleeper cells.

However, after verification and searches in the mentioned locations, the Special Cell reported that no such posters had been found to date. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the source of the video and the intentions behind the claims made by the SFJ leader.
In a separate incident, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned an intrusion at the Indian Embassy in Croatia on Thursday, where Khalistani activists allegedly damaged the national flag. The MEA stated that the perpetrators should be identified and held accountable.

This incident is the latest in a series of actions by Khalistani elements targeting Indian diplomatic missions abroad. While many previous cases emerged from Canada, the UK, and the USA, the incident in Croatia has raised new concerns. The Zagreb embassy was targeted just days before the India-European Union summit scheduled for January 27 in New Delhi.
A video shared by Pannu shows a Khalistani activist allegedly entering the embassy premises in Zagreb, removing the Indian national flag, and replacing it with the Khalistan flag. The footage indicates that this incident occurred on January 22.
