Ghaziabad, February 7: The nation is in shock following the tragic Suicide of three sisters in the Bharat City Society located in the Teela Mod area of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Initial investigations reveal that the sisters were heavily influenced by Korean Games and culture, identifying themselves as Korean.
Babita Singh Chauhan, the chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, visited the bereaved family and urged parents to prevent their children from becoming addicted to mobile phones.
Speaking on the incident, Chauhan expressed her condolences, stating, “This is an extremely tragic event, and that is why I have come to meet the family. Losing three daughters at once is heartbreaking for any family. I spoke with the parents, who mentioned that the girls were avid fans of Korean games. Typically, such games involve a last-stage suicide scenario. Previously, games like PUBG have led to emptying parents’ accounts and caused several children to take their own lives, so such games should be banned.”
Chauhan also questioned how the parents were unaware of the girls’ intentions to take such a drastic step. “I met the girls’ parents and even visited their home. It is a one-room house where everyone sleeps together. How did the family members not notice that the girls were about to take such a step? This incident did not happen overnight, as the girls had been obsessed with the game for some time. Why didn’t the parents or family members intervene?” she asked.
She further added, “The police are investigating the matter, but I still urge children to stay away from their phones and not to consider social media as their entire life. Parents should also keep a close watch on what their children are doing. Our culture emphasizes a strong bond between parents and children, so it is essential to pay full attention to them.”
