CBI Seizes ₹21 Lakh in Cash and Jewelry from Hazaribagh PSU Managers Home

New Delhi, April 25: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted a search at the residence of a manager from the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) in Hazaribagh, recovering ₹21 lakh in cash, jewelry, property documents, and other digital evidence related to a corruption case. An official confirmed this information on Saturday.

The CBI stated that Ravi Ranjan Kumar, who was allegedly arrested on Thursday for accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh, has been presented before a special CBI court in Ranchi, which has remanded him to judicial custody.

According to the CBI, the investigation is also looking into the roles of other CWC officials in this corruption case. The agency had registered a case against Kumar on April 23, following a complaint that he demanded a bribe to allow the complainant to continue work that had already been assigned to him.

Taking cognizance of this serious complaint, the investigation agency acted swiftly, setting a trap to catch the accused red-handed while accepting the bribe. During the operation, CBI officials reportedly caught Kumar in the act of receiving ₹1 lakh from the complainant. The press release confirmed the allegations made by the complainant.

Officials stated that such actions reflect the agency’s ongoing commitment to tackling corruption in public sector enterprises and ensuring accountability among government officials. A CBI officer noted that Kumar’s arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb misconduct in administrative processes and promote transparency.

The investigation agency mentioned that further inquiries are underway to determine if any other individuals were involved or if there is a broader pattern of corrupt practices associated with the accused. The CBI has indicated that as the investigation progresses, they do not rule out the possibility of further legal action.
