Udaipur, April 27: In response to the rising temperatures and severe impact of the heat wave, the District Basic Education Officer’s office in Gautam Buddh Nagar issued an order late Sunday night to revise school timings.
According to the directive from the District Magistrate, all government, private, and recognized schools, including CBSE, ICSE, IB, and UP Board institutions, will now conduct classes from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This change will remain in effect until further notice.
However, the notification did not reach the schools in time, leading to confusion among parents and students. Many schools began classes at the old timings on Monday morning.
Parents expressed their frustration, stating that they were not informed about the timing change through any official channels. One parent mentioned, “The children are small, and we had no idea about the new timings in this heat. When we arrived at school, we found out that the timings had changed, but the school administration was also uncertain.”
The order issued by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Pawar clarified that the change was made to safeguard children’s health due to extreme temperatures and heat. Copies of the order were sent to various officials, including the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer, and all Block Education Officers.
Despite this, the failure of communication at the administrative level has caused significant inconvenience for parents and students. Experts warn that temperatures may rise further in the coming days, making it crucial to ensure timely compliance with such orders. Parents have requested that future changes be communicated via WhatsApp, SMS, or through schools well in advance.
