KTR Comments on Sister Kavithas New Party Formation

Hyderabad, April 27: K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), responded to the formation of a new party, Telangana Rashtra Sena, by his sister K. Kavitha, stating that political parties come and go, and there is no need to pay much attention to it.

During a press conference held in Hyderabad, KTR addressed questions from journalists, emphasizing, “Parties come and go. There is no need to focus too much on this.”

KTR also reacted to some comments made by Kavitha regarding BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). He mentioned that many people frequently speak about KCR, and such remarks do not require attention.

KTR was providing information to the media about the concluding event of the BRS party’s silver jubilee celebrations, which was chaired by KCR at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan.

During the meeting, BRS condemned the alleged statement made by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya in Parliament, where he compared the formation of Telangana state to the creation of Pakistan. KTR described this as an insult to the pride of the people of Telangana.

He pointed out that Congress and BJP MPs from Telangana remained silent in Parliament regarding this statement. KTR stated that if BRS had a member in Parliament, a strong response would have been given immediately.

He revealed that he personally called Tejasvi Surya to express his strong opposition, stating that the remark was inappropriate and hurtful. KTR claimed that the BJP MP only clarified his statement after BRS raised the issue.

The meeting included MPs, MLAs, members of the Legislative Council, state executive members, district presidents, heads of affiliated organizations, former MPs, former MLAs, former MLCs, former corporation chairpersons, and former district council presidents.

KTR mentioned that KCR provided comprehensive guidelines to party leadership and workers, extended greetings for the foundation day, and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the Telangana movement.

He also announced the appointment of senior leader Jivan Reddy as the party’s general secretary.

KTR discussed the conditions before the formation of Telangana state and the political climate at that time. He noted that KCR fought for statehood for 25 years through struggles, strategies, and multiple resignations, which ultimately succeeded.

Expressing concern over the situation of farmers, KTR stated that Telangana is once again witnessing an agricultural crisis similar to that before statehood. He highlighted issues such as power cuts, farmer suicides, shortage of seeds and fertilizers, and delays in paddy procurement.

The BRS executive president accused the Congress government of mismanagement, claiming that a state once recognized for development is now being pushed towards chaos. He alleged that Telangana is being made “number one” in illegal land encroachments and demolitions.

He questioned the government’s failure to effectively implement drinking water schemes like Mission Bhagiratha and accused it of not taking decisive steps regarding paddy procurement.
