Kolkata Celebrates Change After West Bengal Elections

Kolkata, May 5: The atmosphere in Kolkata is jubilant following the BJP’s victory in West Bengal. Many residents have highlighted women’s safety as a primary concern. In conversations with locals, their reactions were shared.

A young woman expressed, “Most people are saying that changing the government is a good idea. All women want their safety to be enhanced, which the TMC government failed to provide.”

Student Sanchita stated, “It was right for the government to change. We hope the new government will work on the safety of women and girls.”

Abhishek Haralalka commented, “Change is the law of the world. The people have chosen a new government in West Bengal this time. I hope the new government will fulfill its promises.”

Brijesh Singh remarked, “Changing the government in West Bengal was essential. I hope the new government will lead the backward Bengal towards development.”

Joyita mentioned, “I do not support any party, but Bengal needed change because a lot has happened here. If the new government works correctly, they will win again next time; otherwise, the public will show them the way, just like they did with the Mamata government.”

BJP leader Shree Rupa Mitra Chaudhary said, “People are so happy that they can breathe freely now. For the first time, we can breathe without fear.”

BJP leader Kiyaa Ghosh added, “Mamata Banerjee knows that according to the Constitution, the 7th is her farewell day. However, if she is not ready to accept her defeat even after losing, I think even small children behave better than this.”

Indranil Khan, the victorious BJP candidate from Behala West assembly constituency, stated, “This is a moment of great joy for the people of West Bengal. The people, deprived of their basic rights by the Mamata Banerjee government, have faced atrocities against women everywhere, whether it be in messages or in medical colleges.”
