Noida, May 7: The police of Noida’s Phase-1 station have arrested three notorious criminals involved in vehicle theft and mobile snatching, uncovering an inter-state gang. Authorities recovered 17 stolen motorcycles and scooters, 8 mobile phones, and 3 illegal knives from the suspects’ possession and their identified locations. The stolen vehicles were taken from various police precincts across Noida and the Delhi-NCR region.
According to police, the arrests were made on Thursday based on manual intelligence and confidential information near F-95 in Sector 8. The arrested individuals have been identified as Suraj alias Chheda (24 years), Anil Kumar alias Golu (30 years), and Sushil Mishra alias Baba (29 years).
All three suspects are residents of Chhijarsi village in the Sector-63 area. Police investigations revealed that this gang executed vehicle thefts in a highly cunning manner. The accused would first scout around colonies, societies, factories, and companies. They would then break the locks of parked motorcycles and scooters to steal them. After the thefts, the vehicles were hidden in different locations to evade police detection.
These stolen vehicles were later used for mobile snatching and other criminal activities. Police stated that the gang frequently changed their base and was active in the NCR region. Numerous serious cases, including vehicle theft, robbery, snatching, the Gangster Act, and the Arms Act, have been registered against the accused in various police stations in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Delhi.
Main accused Suraj alias Chheda alone has over 30 criminal cases registered against him, while Anil Kumar and Sushil Mishra also have several serious cases against them. Police are currently investigating other gang members and the network involved in the buying and selling of stolen vehicles based on the interrogation of the arrested suspects.
