Kuwait, May 10: The Kuwaiti Defense Ministry has reported that several drones were spotted in its airspace on Sunday morning, which were neutralized with utmost caution. The ministry did not disclose the origin of the enemy drones.
Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the official spokesperson for the ministry, stated on the social platform X that the military detected multiple enemy drones in Kuwaiti airspace and dealt with them according to established protocols. The armed forces remain committed to ensuring the safety of the nation along with its citizens and residents.
This announcement comes amid reports of a drone attack on a cargo ship in Qatar’s maritime zone. The UK Maritime Trade Operations Agency had previously claimed that an attack occurred northeast of Doha in the morning. Following this, Qatar confirmed that a cargo ship was targeted by a drone attack in its waters on Sunday.
The ministry revealed that the ship was arriving from Abu Dhabi. Although the vessel caught fire after the attack, the situation was quickly brought under control. There have been no reports of injuries or fatalities. According to the ministry, after extinguishing the fire, the ship continued its journey towards the Mesaieed port.
Meanwhile, a warning from a spokesperson of the Iranian military has also made headlines. He stated that countries enforcing U.S. sanctions on Iran could face difficulties while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Brigadier General Akraminia asserted that the enemy has failed to achieve any of its objectives in the conflict and that Iran’s political structure remains intact. On the contrary, the people of the country are united.
Nia further noted that the enemy understands it cannot break Iran’s resilience, ultimately leading to a ceasefire. He also mentioned that during the ongoing ceasefire, Iran has strengthened its military capabilities.
