
Guwahati, May 12: Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Assam for the second time on Tuesday. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, among others.
Central Minister Chirag Paswan congratulated Sarma, stating, “Himanta has taken the oath with a leadership style aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision, aimed at accelerating development in Assam. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed gratitude to the public for their trust in the BJP, assuring that the government is committed to fulfilling their expectations. “The BJP government is working in the interest of the people, which is why they have faith in us,” he said.
BJP MP Baijayant Panda described the day as historic, highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s emphasis on Assam’s development.
RLMP MP Upendra Kushwaha remarked that the government, having returned to power with greater strength, will work more effectively for development. He wished the Chief Minister and all cabinet members success in their endeavors.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma noted that the people of Assam have shown their trust in the ‘double-engine’ government of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Sarma, which has led to a third consecutive term for the BJP.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta congratulated the people of Assam for their overwhelming support for the BJP.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the importance of development and praised Sarma’s performance, stating that the people have not only re-elected him but have done so with a strong mandate, sending a historic message.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini congratulated Sarma, noting that the public is placing their trust in the BJP under Modi’s leadership.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who visited to pay respects at Kamakhya Temple, prayed for the fulfillment of Modi’s vision for a developed nation and congratulated the people of Assam for re-electing Sarma.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak stated that under Modi’s guidance, Sarma has led the BJP to a remarkable victory for the third consecutive time in Assam, reinforcing Modi’s status as a people’s leader. He congratulated the people of Assam, Sarma, and his entire team.
