Saving Foreign Currency Through Reduced Fuel and Gold Consumption

New Delhi, May 12: BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeals regarding work from home, online classes, and carpooling, as well as the Enforcement Directorate’s actions in the West Bengal municipal recruitment scam. Vallabh stated, “India spends approximately ₹12.5 lakh crore on crude oil and ₹6.5 lakh crore on gold imports annually. By controlling just 10% of these expenditures, we could save around ₹2 lakh crore in foreign currency.”

Regarding the arrest of former West Bengal minister Sujit Bose by the ED, Vallabh emphasized that those involved in fraud and corruption during the TMC’s 15 years in power will not be spared, and action will be taken against all involved. He asserted that the model of providing protection and promotion to infiltrators has been dismantled, and a development model for the people of Bengal will now be implemented.

On the occasion of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony, Vallabh noted, “We have formed the government in Assam for the third consecutive time, and each time, the number of our legislators has increased compared to the previous term.”

Earlier, Vallabh commented on Asaduddin Owaisi’s discomfort with the national song “Vande Mataram,” stating that it reflects a divisive mentality. He reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to the policy of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” prioritizing national unity and sentiment. Vallabh added that “Vande Mataram,” composed by the great poet Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, should be respected, and both “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Jan Gan Man” will also be sung with due respect.
