Tragic Drowning Incident in Uttar Pradesh Claims Four Lives

Udaipur, May 17: In a tragic incident in Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh, four young men drowned in the Yamuna River, while two others were rescued in critical condition.

The unfortunate event occurred in Kunwa Ka Dera village, under the Lalauili police jurisdiction, when six youths ventured into the river for a swim and were swept away by the deep waters.

According to police officials, the drowning incident was reported around 1:30 PM via UP 112, prompting a swift response from police teams and local divers who initiated a rescue operation immediately.

Additional Superintendent of Police Gyan Prakash Rai stated that the six youths, aged between 18 and 20 years, drowned while swimming in the river. He confirmed that the police teams from UP 112 and Lalauili police station arrived promptly at the scene and began rescue efforts with the help of local divers.

The deceased have been identified as Hasibuddin, Shahid, Ansh, and Shan, all residents of Tapni village. Authorities reported that all four drowned at the scene.

The remaining two youths were rescued by local divers and villagers and have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where their condition is reported to be serious.

Police have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations. The incident has sent shockwaves through Tapni village, where family members and residents gathered in large numbers upon hearing the news. Local officials have stated that further investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution when entering rivers and water bodies, as water levels and currents can be unpredictable.
