Satish Upadhyay Participates in One Tree in Mothers Name Campaign

New Delhi, June 5: BJP leader and Malviya Nagar MLA Satish Upadhyay participated in a tree plantation drive on the occasion of Environment Day, under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign. He urged the public to actively engage in this initiative.

In an interview with a news agency, Upadhyay mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign some time ago, calling for widespread participation to effectively protect the environment. He emphasized that a secure environment is essential for our safety and highlighted the need to take steps to preserve soil, air, and rivers for a positive future.

Reflecting on the significance of the campaign, he stated that, in addition to planting new trees, it is crucial to care for existing ones by providing them with water to ensure their survival. He also announced the decision to plant 21 trees in memory of the 21 individuals who lost their lives in a recent incident in Malviya Nagar, dedicating the trees to the foreigners who perished in the fire. “We are organizing this program during a very tragic time. Protecting the environment is our collective responsibility, and we must all participate in the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign,” he said.

Upadhyay acknowledged the efforts of local residents who assisted in rescue operations before the arrival of emergency services during the incident, commending their commitment to humanity.

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal also took part in the campaign, noting that it coincides with the completion of 12 years of Prime Minister Modi’s tenure and the global observance of Environment Day. He mentioned that they are working to inform the public about the Prime Minister’s achievements during this period.

Khandelwal further commented on the praise received by Modi from U.S. President Donald Trump and the Russian President, stating that it reflects Modi’s significant standing on the global stage. He expressed optimism about upcoming trade deals with the U.S., emphasizing that India’s interests will not be compromised.

Additionally, BJP leader Virendra Sachdeva joined the campaign, stressing the importance of viewing nature as a mother and the need for its preservation for future generations. He called for small changes, such as reducing paper usage and cutting down on plastic, to contribute to environmental care.
