New Delhi, June 6: Union Minister Chirag Paswan has sharply reacted to questions raised by Congress regarding India’s GDP growth. He stated that Congress’s biggest problem is its refusal to accept the truth of electoral results and acknowledge the good work being done by the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s leadership.
Paswan remarked that Congress is living in a ‘bubble’ where it perceives every action of the government as wrong. He emphasized that the recently released GDP figures are based on authentic and verified reports. Dismissing every achievement as fabricated or manipulated cannot be termed as healthy politics.
He acknowledged the opposition’s right to critique government policies and actions but stressed that outright rejection of every positive initiative and achievement is not conducive to democratic politics. Paswan urged Congress to accept reality and play a constructive role as the opposition.
Additionally, he addressed the issue of security reductions for RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi by the Bihar government, stating that security matters should not be politicized.
Paswan clarified that security provided to individuals is determined based on threat assessments. If the threat level is high, security is increased, and if it decreases, adjustments or reductions are made. He shared his own experience, noting that he has received increased security at times, which was later reduced and then reinstated.
He described this as a normal administrative process, asserting that it is inappropriate to seek political motives behind such decisions. Paswan concluded that security-related decisions are made based on thorough investigations and relevant reports, and politicizing routine administrative decisions is detrimental to a democratic system and a healthy political environment.
