Major Bust by Anti-Gunda Squad in Nashik

Nashik, May 23: The Anti-Gunda Squad of Nashik police in Maharashtra has made significant strides against illegal arms trafficking and sales, arresting two suspects in the process. Authorities seized three country-made pistols and three cartridges from the accused. The police are currently engaged in further investigations related to the case.

According to reports, this operation was conducted during the investigation of cases registered under the Arms Act at Panchavati and Nashik Road police stations. Following directives from the police commissioner, a special focus is being maintained on individuals involved in the possession and sale of illegal weapons in the city. The Anti-Gunda Squad was assigned to investigate both cases under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime).

During the investigation, police interrogated Kunal Mahindra Chavan, who was out on bail in connection with crime number 164/2026 at Panchavati police station. Based on the interrogation, 26-year-old Bhavesh Milind Joshi, a resident of Dhule currently living in Adgaon, was taken into custody. Two country-made pistols and two live cartridges were recovered from him.

In another investigation related to crime number 251/2026 at Nashik Road police station, suspect Adil Jameel Syed revealed that he had purchased a country-made pistol from the absconding accused Prathamesh alias Mothaiya Nelson Kasbe. Subsequently, police arrested 27-year-old Prathamesh alias Big Nelson Kasbe, seizing one country-made pistol and one live cartridge from him.

Preliminary investigations indicate that both suspects were bringing illegal weapons and cartridges from Madhya Pradesh to sell in Nashik. The Anti-Gunda Squad is continuing its investigation into the matter.

This operation was led by Officer Sandeep Pawar, along with a team of police officials and staff. Authorities have stated that strict actions against criminals will continue in the future.
