New Delhi, May 10: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again launched a fierce attack on Iran’s policies and the approach of former President Barack Obama, making serious allegations. Trump claimed that Obama’s administration’s policies economically and politically empowered Iran, which has been deceiving the United States for years.
In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump stated, “Iran has been playing games with the U.S. and the rest of the world for the past 47 years. They have always delayed, adopting a ‘not today, maybe tomorrow’ policy. They got their biggest opportunity when Barack Hussein Obama became President. Obama was not just soft on Iran; he completely sided with them, ignoring Israel and other allied nations and giving Iran a significant chance to regain strength.”
Trump asserted that Iran received hundreds of billions of dollars, including $1.7 billion in cash sent to Tehran via aircraft. He claimed that such large sums were withdrawn from banks in Washington D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, leaving Iranian leaders bewildered about how to handle it. The money was reportedly delivered in suitcases and bags, leaving Iranians astonished at the windfall.
Labeling Obama as a “weak and foolish president,” Trump remarked that Iran finally found a leader they could easily manipulate. He further stated that while Obama was a poor leader for the U.S., he was not as ineffective as “Sleepy Joe Biden.”
Trump accused Iran of continuously entangling the U.S. for the past 47 years, taking American lives through roadside bombings and recently killing 42,000 innocent and unarmed protesters. He emphasized that Iran would no longer be able to laugh at the U.S. as the country is becoming “great” again.
Trump’s remarks followed a statement from Iranian President Masoud Pajeshkian, who advised not to misinterpret the ongoing peace talks with the U.S. as a sign of weakness. In a social media post on Sunday, Pajeshkian stated, “We will not bow our heads before the enemy. If discussions or negotiations arise, it does not mean surrender or retreat. Rather, it aims to uphold Iran’s rights and firmly protect national interests.”
