Mumbai, May 6: Singer Tulsi Kumar has embraced her father Gulshan Kumar’s legacy by actively participating in community service at the Vaishno Devi shrine, a place she holds dear. Recently, she visited the shrine and contributed by serving food to devotees during a family-run community kitchen.
On Wednesday, Tulsi shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, showcasing herself and her son distributing prasad to the pilgrims. She expressed her emotions in the post, stating, “The langar at Katra, initiated by my father nearly 43 years ago, continues with the same love, faith, and selflessness. This tradition of service is still alive. Following the path shown by my father, I am filled with gratitude.”
Gulshan Kumar, a devoted follower of Vaishno Devi, had started this community kitchen for pilgrims many years ago. Despite his passing, his children have ensured that this noble initiative continues, providing essential meals to countless visitors at Katra.
It is reported that Gulshan Kumar undertook various initiatives for the convenience of devotees visiting Vaishno Devi. He was known for his deep devotion; when faced with a ransom demand from the underworld, he famously declared, “With 10 crores, I can feed the devotees at Vaishno Devi.”
Gulshan Kumar, the founder of T-Series, was tragically murdered in Mumbai in a shooting linked to underworld extortion and rivalry, with police identifying musician Nadeem Saifi and mafia don Abu Salem as key conspirators.
