Bengaluru, April 27: Karnataka’s Home Minister G. Parameshwara commented on the recent meeting between the ‘DK brothers’ (Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and former MP D.K. Suresh) and the party high command in New Delhi, stating that such discussions are a routine part of politics.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru on Monday, he emphasized that these situations are a natural aspect of political life. Regarding his meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he noted that it too is part of political activities.
Parameshwara mentioned that state Congress President Shivakumar met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss state-related issues and matters concerning the defence sector.
In response to Shivakumar’s statement that any discussions held will eventually come to light, Parameshwara described it as a political remark, asserting that no further clarification is necessary. He added that after a meeting, he returned home after having a meal.
On the comments made by PWLD Minister Satish Jarkiholi regarding the government’s challenges in fulfilling promises to the Ahinda communities, Parameshwara stated that it was a personal opinion and he had no comments on it.
He also addressed the lack of a timeline for the caste census report, indicating that delays could arise from various reasons, including elections, political developments, and assembly sessions, which may extend the timeline. He noted that he does not have detailed information on this matter and it would not be appropriate for him to comment further.
Regarding the issue of IPL ticket black marketing and the filing of FIRs, he stated that if an FIR has been filed, the police will take action against those involved. He stressed that there is no tolerance for ticket black marketing, and any individual found illegally selling tickets will face consequences. The police will investigate the allegations.
Parameshwara clarified that ticket sales occur online, and the government has no direct role in this process, as it is left to the relevant authorities. The claims made in the FIR will be investigated.
