
Chennai, May 10: After taking the oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar addressed the current state of the state, highlighting the significant debt left by the previous government, amounting to nearly ₹10 lakh crore.
Vijay stated that the treasury was nearly emptied before leaving office, and he is determined to understand the real situation. He plans to present a transparent report through a white paper.
He emphasized that he would not engage in secretive meetings and will operate openly and transparently. “I hope to have some time to fulfill my promises gradually, and your cooperation and patience are essential,” he added.
Vijay assured that women’s safety would be a top priority and that he would take necessary steps to control drug culture. He also committed to improving law and order in the state. “All eight crore people of Tamil Nadu are my own,” he stated, expressing his dedication to the public.
He pledged not to misuse public funds, asserting that he would neither engage in nor allow wrongdoing, regardless of who it involves.
Reflecting on his journey, Vijay shared that he comes from humble beginnings and understands the struggles of life. He expressed gratitude to the public for accepting him as one of their own and promised to work diligently for their welfare.
“I have faced struggles to reach this point, and I appreciate the support you have given me,” he concluded.
