Lucknow, May 27: The Islamic Centre of India has issued a 12-point advisory ahead of Eid-ul-Zuha, which will be celebrated on May 28. Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahli, President of the Islamic Centre, along with Iqbal Ansari, a former party in the Ayodhya Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case, urged the community to celebrate the festival peacefully and harmoniously.
Maulana Farangi Mahli stated, “Eid-ul-Zuha will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious traditions across the country. The sacrificial rites will take place on May 28, 29, and 30, while the Eid prayers will be held on May 28. We request everyone to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of their respective states.”
He emphasized that prayers should be offered at designated prayer grounds and urged attendees to arrive early to secure space. Additionally, he advised that sacrifices should only be made with animals permitted by law and that cleanliness should be maintained during the process. The remains of the sacrificed animals should be disposed of according to municipal arrangements and not discarded carelessly. He also requested that no photos or videos be taken during the sacrifice or shared on social media. After the prayers, he urged everyone to pray for the country’s progress and to protect against the heat.
Iqbal Ansari echoed the call for communal harmony and peaceful celebrations, highlighting that the festival symbolizes sacrifice, brotherhood, and respect for all religions. He remarked, “We celebrate our festival with everyone. The essence of the festival is brotherhood and happiness in every home. When our neighbors are happy, we too are happy; when the villagers are happy, we will also remain joyful. The meaning of sacrifice on Eid is that we are good human beings who respect each other and honor all religions. Only good deeds will make our sacrifices acceptable. There should be no rift between Hindus and Muslims, and the true meaning of the festival is to foster brotherhood in the country.”
